Official visit of the Council of Europe Advisory Committee to the Center for Historical Research.
The Center for Historical Research (CRS) today had the pleasure and honor of welcoming a delegation from the Council of Europe’s Advisory Committee for the Protection of National Minorities, currently on a mission to Croatia.
The delegation, consisting of three experts from Austria, Cyprus and Georgia, accompanied by Zeynep Usal-Kanzler of the Council of Europe Secretariat, was received by CRS Director Raul Marsetič.
During the official meeting, a broad and in-depth discussion was held on the activities of the Center for Historical Research, particularly in relation to the protection and promotion of the cultural and linguistic identity of the Italian national community in Croatia. Numerous aspects were addressed, of a political, social and cultural nature, with particular attention to the historical and current presence of the Italian component on Croatian territory and the role of the CRS as a scientific institution of the Italian Union.
The visit concluded with a tour of the institution’s environments. The meeting was described as extremely positive by both sides and was a significant opportunity for dialogue and collaboration.
For the Center for Historical Research, the visit was an important recognition of the work done to protect the historical and cultural heritage of the Italian community in Croatia.
